In 2015 the National Alliance for Caregiving documented that 43.5 million Americans provided unpaid care, and in 2020 that number skyrocketed to 53 million, with 61% of them being women. The average caregiver is doing caregiving full time with a part time job for their own personal expenses, and from experience we know that the longer a caregiver provides care, the more responsibilities they have. Caregivers often feel lost, alone and financially strained. Matter of fact, 23% of Americans have said that caregiving has made their health worse. Women caregivers are more likely than non-caregivers to live in poverty. While giving their full attention to the loved one they are caring for, their mental, physical & spiritual health suffers.
